Dutch actress, dancer and singer. Her father was the actor Marie Cornelis Ferdinand van der Does (20 July 1866, Den Haag- 27 April 1910, Amsterdam). He played for Tivoli and the Nederlandsche Tooneelvereeniging. Her mother was the German Alwine Magdalene Schmodter (5 September 1866, Halberstadt - 1950). Tilly van der Does came on stage at the age of 13. She worked as an actress, cabaret artist and singer, but was a ballet dancer before, at the Ballet Stroganoff. She left for marriage abroad. Her husband "Fred Freed" (Friedrich Goldbaum, alias Alfredo Corenzo, born 21 December 1903, Vienna, died 31 August 1983, Paris) was an Austrain composer and pianist. Since 1956, he accompanied Maurice Chevalier on his tours, which meant that she often went with them on tour and became part of the jet-set. In the twenties and early thirties, Louis Davids was her companion. In the early evening of 31 December 1928 she and Davids collided between Amsterdam and Haarlem (Halfweg) on a truck. She injured her head with the car glass. She died 30 November 1971 in Paris.
