American singer, musician, arranger and songwriter, best known for his 1949 R&B chart hit, "Sneakin' Around" and his work as musical director for Debbie Reynolds. He worked with Reynolds on stage shows and the 1964 film The Unsinkable Molly Brown, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. He left the music business in 1972, and worked as an elementary school teacher in the North Hollywood area until he retired in 2001. He died on 11 September 2014, aged 88. Link to Wikipedia biography
