French singer, actor and comedian, who performed in cabarets, on radio and on television. He made his debut in 1932 at la Vache Enragée (The Mad Cow) and appeared in several Parisian cabarets. He appeared with Jean Valton at Caveau de la République (The Vault of the Republic). In 1949, Robert Rocca created "ils en sont tous," one of the few songs of the period in which homosexuality was cast in a positive light. In 1950-1960, with his friend Jacques Grello, he co-hosted a popular Sunday satirical television show, "La Boîte à sel," also regularly appearing on the TV series "Le Grenier de Montmartre," and the program "Le Club des chansonniers" on Radio Luxembourg.
