First Lady of the Republic of Chile between 1942 and 1946, during the presidency of her husband, President Juan Antonio Rios, whom she married on 21 October 1921. He had three children with Rivers: Juan Guillermo, Carlos Anselmo and Fernando Antonio . After their marriage, the couple moved to Santiago. They secluded River around 1930, married life again by 1941; a year later, her husband was elected president of Chile. Thanks to their own initiative, in 1944 the Christmas Committee was created, commissioned to continue the initiative of his predecessor in the Christmas celebrations, and the City of the Child, the most transcendental work of the first lady and administration Rivers 1943. After a long tour through America President Juan Antonio Rios returned weakened by a fatal cancer and died on 27 June 1946; thereafter Ide Marta moved away from public life.
