Life Story

Mexican writer, philosopher and politician, who has been called the "cultural caudillo " of the Mexican Revolution. He is one of the most influential and controversial personalities in the development of modern Mexico. His philosophy of the "cosmic race" affected all aspects of Mexican sociocultural, political, and economic policies. As such, Vasconcelos is often referred to as the father of the indigenismo philosophy. Vasconcelos was a prolific author, writing in a variety of genres, especially philosophy, but also autobiography. He died on 30 June 1959, aged 77, in Mexico City. Link to Wikipedia biography
