Together with his teacher and colleague Charles Richet, he conducted pioneering work that led to the discovery of edema. Langlois served as a professor of physiology at ‘’la Faculté de médecine de Paris’’ and ‘’Conservatoire des arts et métiers’’. He died in Paris on 17 June 1923, aged 60.
