German actor who appeared in more than 190 films between 1913 and 1955. Tiedtke also appeared on stage playing important theatre figures such as Iago in Othello, Mephisto in Faust and Franz Moor in Die Räuber. Tiedtke was a friend and patron of the theatre critic and journalist Siegfried Jacobsohn. Until the 1950s, he participated in broadcasts, especially for the RIAS and the NWDR. He was married to ballet dancer Ingrid Peterson. His estate is housed in the Berlin State Library. His memoirs appeared in 1951 under the title Aufrichtigkeiten eines ermüdeten Lügners (Sincerity of a Wearied Liar). He died on 30 June 1960, aged 85, in Berlin. Link to Wikipedia biography
