This is the seventh nakshatra of the zodiac, spanning from 20°-00' in Gemini (Taurus) to 3°-20' in Karaka(Cancer). The word Punarvasu is derived from Puna+Vasu, which means return, renewal, restoration or repetition. The primary symbols of this illuminating nakshatra are a bow and a quiver of arrows. The sky is the limit with this nakshatra. The word Punarvasu means ‘reignition' and the symbol is an arrow returned to the quiver. Punarvasu means “the return of the light” and has the divine ability to bring spiritual light into darkness. It is ruled by Aditi, the Great Mother Goddess, the Cosmic Mother, who bestows her creative abundance on all who seek her blessings.
