Italian actor of both stage and screen. Cervi’s fame grew due to his outstanding performances in three movies, "Aldebaran," 1935, "Ettore Fieramosca," 1938, and "Avventura di Salvator Rosa, Un’," 1940. He was the son of Italian theatre critic Antonio Cervi, and in 1924, one year after his father’s death, Luigi appeared in his first play. His film career flourished, eventually leading to a role as Inspector Jules Maigret in a series of popular television movies. Cervi had one child, Tonino, who became a director, writer and producer. He was the grandfather of actress Valentina Cervi. On 3 January 1974, he died from a pulmonary stroke in Punta Ala, Italy. Link to Wikipedia biography
