Dutch advocate and barrister. Gerda, nickname Polle Veth, was the third daughter of the painter Jan Veth. She visited the girls HBS in Bussum, but had because of bad health also to stay often in Germany for treatmant. She studied Law at the University of Amsterdam. On 5 July 1921 she dissertated with Simulatie in het privaatrecht (Simulation in private Law) in Amsterdam. In 1934 she started her own practice in Amsterdam and worked there till age 65. She was active in many organisations dealing with law, health and children's rights. She was the first female member of the Raad voor Toezicht en Discipline. Till end 1953 she was the juridical advisor of the Vereniging tegen de Kwakzalverij (Association Against Quackery). She died 31 December 1966 in Haarlem.
