German sculptor, whose works before 1945 were all destroyed by the effects of the war, including, for example, a fountain he designed for the public park in Kiel, with sculptures of seals, dolphins and other sea creatures. The Frankfurt Opera House houses his bust of the opera singer Hans Erl. In 1958 Mahr created a bronze plaque commemorating the last mayor of the Free City of Frankfurt, Karl Konstanz Viktor Fellner. In 1963, he made a plaque erected for the Frankfurt poet Ludwig Börne. He died in Frankfurt am Main on 8 July 1967, aged 78. Link to Wikipedia biography (German)
