Famed austrian occultist, astrologer, psychic and alternative healer. He was born as Demeter Georgievitz-Weitzer, but called himself G.W. Surya (Surya meaning "sun" in Sanskrit) commencing with WW I. Skilled as mechanical engineer, he was faced with haunting phenomena in a disagreeable manner as a result of his love of experimentation, he convinced himself an underlying divine law behind it. According to eastern wisdom teachings he developed his philosophy, called by him "geistiger Monismus" (spiritual holism). From 1909 to 1914 he published the "Zentralblatt für Okkultismus" founded by Karl Brandler-Pracht. Most of his numerous publications are on theosophy and alternative healing, a reason of being pursued by the Nazis. Together with Friedrich Schwickert he published "Astrologie und Medizin". Surya died on january 3,17:30 in Graz (Austria) from the effects of stroke. Link to Astrowiki (german)
