American actor, one of the great comics of Vaudeville and the silent screen. He was the first to sign a $3 million contract. His career was destroyed by a wild party on 9/05/1921, during Labor Day weekend, at which an actress, Virginia Rappe, was injured, allegedly while having sex with the 266 pound Arbuckle. She died the following Friday, on 9/09/1921, and the autopsy showed death from cystitis. He was found not guilty in three sensational trials, but was never again accepted by the public, as he was totally blackballed. With the help of friends, he quietly returned to films as a director, under the pseudonym of William B. Goodrich. This career was short-lived by an attempt to return to acting in England in 1932, only to return to the U.S., disillusioned and heartbroken. Arbuckle was married for the second time on 5/16/1925 to Minta Durfee. Died of a heart attack on 6/29/1933, New York. Link to Wikipedia biography
