English scholar, teacher and author, the third child of poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. His largest published work was "The Scriptural Character of the English Church" (1839). He wrote a biography of his brother Hartley, published in 1849, and also edited some of his father's works in conjunction with his sister. He died at Torquay on 28 March 1883. He had been married for more than fifty-five years to Mary Simpson Pridham (1808-1887), the daughter of a Plymouth banker. He left a son (Ernest Hartley Coleridge) and a daughter (Christabel Rose Coleridge). His second son, Derwent Moultrie Coleridge, predeceased him in 1880. Link to Wikipedia biography
