French physician, known along with Gustave Durante for "maladie Porak et Durante" (Porak-Durante disease/syndrome, 1894), a congenital bone disease now termed āVrolik's diseaseā after Willem Vrolik. From 1882 Porak served as accoucheur des hoĢpitaux at the HoĢpital Saint-Louis and the MaterniteĢ. Charles Porak was an interne under Just-Marie-Marcellin Lucas-ChampionnieĢre (1843-1913), and received his doctorate in 1878. He was chef de clinique under Jean Anne-Henri Depaul (1811-1883). He was a member of the AcadeĢmie de meĢdecine from 1894. He died on 27 May 1921, aged 76, in Paris.
