Norwegian actress, children's writer, and songwriter. She made her stage debut at the Oslo theatre Masken in 1938, and worked the next twelve years as an actress at various theatres in Oslo, Bergen, and Stavanger. From 1946 she contributed with songs and audio plays to the radio show Lørdagsbarnetimen (the Saturday children's hour) at the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. Brænne was married to sculptor Hugo Frank Wathne from 1950 to 1951. Her sister Randi Brænne was an actress too. Her brother-in-law was actor Frank Robert.
