Norwegian theatre manager and director of both film and theatre. He was the son of doctor and writer Alex Brinchmann. From 1960 to 1967 Brinchmann was head of Fjernsynsteatret (the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's TV theatre department). One of his stated intentions was to make Fjernsynsteatret the biggest theatre stage in the country. He was head of Nationalteatret (The National Theatre) until 1978, when he became a freelancer.
