Archduchess of Austria, one of three daughters of Karl (Charles) VI, Holy Roman Emperor, and Elisabeth Christine of Brunswick-Wolfenbütteland. She was a younger sister of Empress Maria Theresa. She married Prince Charles Alexander of Lorraine in Vienna on 7 January 1744. The couple were appointed governors of the Austrian Netherlands in succession of their aunt Archduchess Maria Elisabeth of Austria, who had died in 1741. In October 1744 Maria Anna gave birth to a stillborn child; she died on 16 December 1744 due to the difficult childbirth. Link to Wikipedia biography
