British writer who is most noted for his book, "The Way Of Zen," 1957. He attended theological seminary for six years, from 1944-1950, and then became a teacher of Asian studies in San Francisco. Throughout his life, he held an interest for Taoism, Vedanta, Zen and the far-East cultures, interpreting Eastern thought for the West for nearly 40 years. Watts was married twice.
