American contemporary classical and film and television composer. In 2007, he was commissioned by director Bill Purple and Iron Ocean Films' executive producers Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple to create the score for Iron Ocean Films' first film, Hole in the Paper Sky. In this same year he also lent several instrumental compositions to the Robert Redford- and Terrence Malick-produced Sundance Film Festival documentary The Unforeseen. Muzzey also scored the film Amexicano which had its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival and was received with much critical acclaim. In 2009, Kerry Muzzey was approached by the music supervisor of the soon-to-be-launched 20th Century Fox television show Glee about using Muzzey's composition "Looking Back" as a love theme in the first two episodes of the series. The music was well-received and continued to be used in multiple episodes of the series. In 2011 Muzzey was commissioned to score the Wendie Malick film What Happens Next and also the film Holiday Engagement by Jim Fall. Kerry Muzzey's contemporary classical music has been featured on the Fox Broadcasting Company show So You Think You Can Dance for which Muzzey created a custom version of his composition "Bernini's Angels" in 2011 which was choreographed by Christopher Scott and Galen Hooks and performed by The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers. The performance of Muzzey's composition "Bernini's Angels (the LXD Mix)" propelled "Bernini's Angels (the LXD Mix)" and "Bernini's Angels (Original Orchestral Version)" simultaneously to number 1 and number 3 on the Amazon.com Classical Download chart, and "Bernini's Angels (the LXD Mix)" reached number 2 on the iTunes Classical Chart. In 2012 choreographer Christopher Scott used Muzzey's composition "Architect of the Mind" as the opening number for the show's Top 20 dancers. Subsequently, "Architect of the Mind" reached Top-20 status on both the Amazon and iTunes Classical Charts. In 2012 Kerry again teamed up with choreographer Christopher Scott and director Jon M. Chu to compose the music for "Earth Chorus," a composition that used NASA recordings of the Earth's sounds as heard from space and turned them into musical instruments. The video was performed by The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers and went viral after being featured on Mashable. In August 2014, Muzzey released the album The Architect which was recorded at AIR Lyndhurst by the Chamber Orchestra of London under the baton of Andrew Skeet. The Architect debuted at #5 on the iTunes Classical Chart, and simultaneously debuted at #5 on the Billboard (magazine) Classical Chart, where it spent its first two weeks of release. The album also spent 3 months in featured placement on the iTunes Classical storefront. The Architect is a collection of contemporary classical works for string orchestra and piano. In 2015, Kerry Muzzey scored the documentary film The Seer by filmmaker and director Laura Dunn of Two Birds Film. Link to Wikipedia biography
