Costa Rican sculptor. He is one of the pioneers of the secular sculpture in Costa Rica. At the same time, renewed national imagery to enrich statuary expressionist, cubist or abstractionist features. This process of change of religious art to the art by the mere aesthetic enjoyment made today is considered one of the most renowned artists in the field of Costa Rican art, starting with his art a new chapter in the Costa Rican sculpture. Chacon's work, by its vastness, wide thematic and expressive search and aesthetically difficult to pigeonhole described as eclectic, is a work that links the academic realism with contemporary innovations that will begin to take shape in the 1930s, with the advent sculptors of new sensibility, as Francisco Zuniga and Juan Manuel Sanchez, brewing a Costa Rican identity sculptural art.
