British anthropologist and meteorologist who made significant contributions to psychology and to genetics, the founder of Biostatistics. He laid the foundation for a political movement, Eugenics, considered important during the first half of the 20th century. He was the cousin of Charles Darwin. With an interest in psychology, meteorology and geography, he graduated from Cambridge and traveled widely. One of his noted books include "Hereditary Genius," 1869.
