Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel and a Prussian Generalmajor. He was the son of Ferdinand Albrecht II and his wife Antoinette Amalie (1696–1762). In 1738 he became the head of the Grenadier Regiment of his brother Ferdinand, with whom he fought the Turks in the same year. In October 1743 he was captain in the Royal Danish bodyguards. In 1744 he received permission from his parents to join the English General George Wade in the Netherlands as a volunteer. There he became a lieutenant. In 1745 he resigned from Danish service to join the Prussian army. Here he took over as Generalmajor of the Infantry Regiment No. 39, which previously belonged to his brother, and fought with him in the battle of Hohenfriedberg. He died on 30 September 1745 in the Battle of Thrush. His brother Friedrich Franz succeeded him as commander of the regiment. Link to Wikipedia biography (German)
