Italian theatre, screen and voice actor who made his stage debut in 1927, cast by Dora Menichelli in the drama play Guerra in tempo di pace. From then he started a career on stage with the major companies of the time, working with Lamberto Picasso, Emma Gramatica (with whom he made a long tour of South and Central America), Ruggero Ruggeri, Antonio Gandusio among others. In 1942 Annicelli become one of the most acclaimed radio actors in several Neapolitan comedies. Annicelli was also active in films (even if usually in character roles), in television productions and in dubbing. In his youth Annicelli was the muse of French novelist and poet Jacques d'Adelswärd-Fersen (1880-1923), who called him his "petit faune" (little faun), and wrote a book of poems about him, La Neuvaine du petit Faune (unpublished until 2010). Annicelli, aged 18, was at d'Adelswärd-Fersen's home, Villa Lysis, in Capri, on the evening of 5 November 1923 when d'Adelswärd-Fersen died of an overdose of cocaine. In his fictional biography of d'Adelswärd (L’Exilé de Capri) Roger Peyrefitte discreetly referred to Annicelli under the pseudonym "Manfred." Annicelli died in Rome on 28 August 1984, aged 78.
