French tennis player, she lost the 2007 Wimbledon final won by Venus Williams(after defeating Hénin in the semi-final). Four years later, she defeated her sister Serena but lost in the quarter final round. Bartoli is the daughter of Walter, A Corsican doctor who was also her tennis coach. She reports that she is a MENSA talent with an IQ of 175. She began the professional circuit in 2007; by 2011 she was earning over $1 million per year in prize money. On 6 July 2013, she won the Wimbledon grand slam competition, defeating Sabine Lisicki. She made the match point at 15:33 (UT+1) She was ranked 7 before announcing her retirement on 14th August 2013. She has commented tennis for Eurosport and begun a new career as designer. Suffering from anorexia nervosa, she contracted a virus in July 2016 (her weight was only 41 kgs) but she could run in November 2016 the marathon in New-York. In June 2017, her weight reached 88 kgs.
